Right now, I have a crush on a suitcase. I know, it sounds silly, but I do. This darling blush-colored "Bigger Carry-On" from Away is priced at $245, which might seem like a lot to budget-conscious travelers, but for all of the perks it offers, it just might be worth it. With a square design to fit more stuff, a battery charger (!), a laundry bag and an "interior compression system," this is a bag that will make traveling a whole lot easier.
My practical ceramic IKEA plates have taken a beating over the last few years. I can't complain much as they were super cheap. But pretty soon, I'm going to have to replace them, and I've been considering another material that won't chip so much. That's where wood plates might come into play for me. Sold at Pocket for $18 for a dessert plate and $25 for a dinner plate, these kitchen favorites offer simplicity, practicality and beauty. Find them here.
I've written about this fragrance from Cameron Marks before, but now that I'm a proud owner of it, I can really write about it from a place of authority. Coined the "Cameron Marks Secret Potion," this vial of fabulous smelling liquid is certainly a secret. But it doesn't have to be for much longer.
I was gifted this for Christmas, and while it's a new and different scent to add to my growing collection, I absolutely adore it.
I discovered the fragrance after giving the owner of Cameron Marks, Vanessa Ambrose, a hug one day. When I left, her perfume hung onto my scarf and I found myself sniffing it all day, wondering what that fabulous smell was. Later, I inquired and found out it was a secret potion that she sells at her store in Santa Cruz, as well as online.
The scent notes are described as amber and patchouli, but on my skin type, I don't smell the patchouli at all. I pick up the amber and undertones of vanilla, but most of all, it reminds me of warmth and beauty, if you could describe such a thing for a smell. It's cozy, original, and smells like modern style.

I'm a huge fan of Lee Coren's work. (I don't think I could possibly own enough of her bags.) For Christmas, she featured a remarkable bulk sale and I was lucky enough to be gifted with three items from her current collection, including the Portofino Pouch in Bronze Indigo ($34) seen above. This handheld beauty is big enough to hold your phone, keys, lipstick, and more. You can use it as a small evening clutch, or put it in your daytime bag to hold your essentials. It's even prettier in person! Find it here.
This past September, I had a chance to go to Europe and of course, it was amazing. But the bag that I took with me didn't cut it. I carried around a large canvas tote bag that was thick, hefty, heavy, and super awkward. Mostly, I had a bag that big with me so that I could tote around my iPad for writing excursions. But my bag ended up being more annoying than helpful. Since then, I've been looking for a crossbody bag to take with me on future exotic trips, as well as day trips to places like San Francisco. I need something that will accommodate my iPad, wallet, and other essentials. Enter: Lee Coren's fabulous vegan Everything Crossbody purse in black on black confetti. For $70, you honestly can't find anything better out there on the market. Trust me, I've been doing extensive research for the last three months to find just the right crossbody bag, and this is it.
It's super lightweight, easy to care for and clean, and it's just big enough to fit an iPad and other important daily items. As a bonus feature, you can remove the crossbody strap and use it as a clutch for an evening out, and it has an inside pocket. This is perfection in a purse.
