I've been an avid sunscreen user forever, but I still somehow managed to get skin cancer last year—just the basal cell carcinoma version, but still, it was surprising. I'm a huge fan of Allbirds Wool Runners shoes. I have a grey and white pair and I pretty much wear them all the time. The Tree Runners light-weight option came out a while back, but I wasn't sure what I thought of them, style-wise, until I saw the above pair in person and heard from the wearer just how much she was crushing on them. For summer adventures, these are a perfect shoe to keep your feet comfy and cool. They'll also dry quick if you accidentally happen upon a rainy day. Find them here and keep your feet cool.
Last fall I took a trip to Europe, and next summer, I'm looking to do the same when I graduate from my MFA program. While I was relatively prepared for my two-and-a-half weeks abroad, one problem I constantly ran into was my water bottle situation. I brought two S'well bottles with me and carried one with me everywhere, because, obviously, I wanted to stay hydrated. But I ended up losing both water bottles because I kept setting them down in stores or restaurants and wandered off without them. I wish there had been a hands-free way to carry my water bottle, and now there is. This raffia water bottle holder, which comes in four colors and sells for $98, is a cure-all for staying hydrated and not losing your water bottle. Find it here from HFS Collective.
I'm a huge sucker for bags. But I'm also super picky. Shoulder bags that are easy to carry, but still functional are my favorites. This Soft Purse from Baggu ($220) just might be a new one for me. It's big enough to fit a 10-inch iPad and an iPhone, and sleek enough to look cool while being functional. Find it here.
Does hormonal acne have you feeling down? Me, too. It's a total bummer to deal with. And until now, I haven't been able to find much in the way of cures for it, other than cortisone injections from the dermatologist. But when I decided to make the pricey ($152) investment in this exfoliating peel and mask, I was hoping it would be worth the price tag and it absolutely is.
