I've never been a big fan of foundation. While I certainly don't want to flaunt my skin's imperfections by going bare-faced, I'm rather paranoid of looking like I have makeup on. That's what initially drew me to the original powder foundation (bareMinerals) by Bare Escentuals. The infomercials were convincing enough that I started using it. However, my only beef was that I felt like as much primer as I used, the product would almost roll off my skin at times, and I often ended up looking like I had foundation on. I wondered if this was unique to me, or just the effect of using a mineral foundation. While I certainly haven't conducted a scientific study on the matter, I did experiment with something different—liquid foundation by Smashbox. This high definition formula is oil-free and packed with moisturizing properties. So, I gave it a shot. I was blown away by the difference. The coverage was just right—it camouflaged my ruddy skin but gave me a dewy glow—exactly what I was looking for. Since then, I haven't turned back to mineral foundation. I'm wondering, what works better for you? A powder foundation or a liquid? And while you're at it, what's your favorite brand?
