Tress Stress

Everyone has their beauty bugaboo, something that causes a wave of anxiety each time you stand in front of the mirror getting dolled up for the day. For some it’s short eyelashes, others battle blemishes or dry skin, but for me it’s my fine yet frizzy hair. Why—I constantly ask myself—have I been cursed with such a dreadful combination of hair woes? To have hair that dries full and smooth with minimal fuss is my greatest beauty wish.

And while I may never have the thick mane I crave, it seems that maybe I can indeed have the smooth. While fumbling through my sister’s medicine cabinet on a recent visit, I found a bottle of Bumble and Bumble Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil. Boasting a blend of eight oils including coconut, sweet almond, safflower and grape, I rubbed a tiny dollop of this sweet smelling concoction onto my wet hair. An hour of air-drying later, I checked the results. Although my hair was still slightly frizzy, it was much less so than usual, and it was extremely soft to the touch. And should you choose to blow dry, the smooth factor increases. I’m not saying that Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil has changed my life, but it has taken some of the anxiety out of my morning hair routine and for me, that’s priceless.

Bumble and Bumble Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil can be found for $38 at, or at Faust Scotts Valley.
