Runway Review: Valentino, Ready to Wear, 2014

Valentino’s Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli’s Spring Ready To Wear 2014 collection has single-handedly pulled me out of my minimalist biker chic obsession. Never in my life have I craved more color, fringe and patterns in my daily mix. "It’s a fashion opera," said the talented duo. "A show has to be a show." The design house kept things classic using crisp business blues, luxurious camels and my favorite, black. They brought things to the next level incorporating turquoise, coral, plum, and forest green in their designs, and seemed to draw inspiration from the most luxe destinations, while still grounded in their roots and tradition. I imagine a well-traveled woman with a strong sense of personal style to be the ideal Valentino client (who I want to be when I grow up!).
