Is it too early to think about what to wear to holiday parties? I'm already excited. I should be thinking about presents and grocery lists, but planning what to wear to holiday extravaganzas has always been one of my favorite parts of the season. It's right up there with all the joy, love, gratitude, and family infighting that this time of year brings forth. I know I've been a huge proponent of dresses and all the ease that they bring to dressing, and I haven't changed my mind. But I thought I should switch it up and give party pants a try. I picked black jeans with gold studs because, if that doesn't scream festive, I'm not sure what does. They kind of speak for themselves, so a simple top and knock out booties are an easy mix. Next, a pair of cropped, cobalt pants that I could see toiling bravely at the office and then, when smothered in sequins, metamorphosing into a festival of light later that night. I saw these ivory satin trousers and I was in love with all they evoked. Moonlight on water, '30s glamour, '70s disco, pajama dressing. So many options! I reigned myself in, opted for bold, gold accents and let the glamour just kind of ooze.
