5 Winter Favorites

It’s getting to be that time of year where warm and cozy browns and pops of cranberry begin to appear everywhere, from store front merchandising to décor in loved one's homes. These subtle changes tell us to brace ourselves for the fall, and all the changes that come with it. Here are some fall essentials that I love incorporating into my day-to-day life and help me cope with the fact that summer is finally over.

This Malin+Goetz Cannabis Candle ($52) is the perfect way to warm up any space with citrus tops notes, fig and pepper, and a grounding base of oakmoss, sandlewood and amber-patchouli. If I had the funds to burn this candle day in and day out yearround, I absolutely would.

Aveda’s Hand and Foot Relief ($22.50) is a staple in my purse and on my bedside table. This cult classic among doctors and hairstylists is incredibly rich and moisturizing (and great for those who are constantly washing their hands). Aside from the delightfully light citrus scent (peppermint scented for the feet), it is packed with antioxidants to brighten any pigmentation, and fruit acids help exfoliate winter skin, leaving our hands and feet ready to show off our new fall mani/pedi shades.

Tea Forte’s amazing assortment of luxury tea quickly turns fall into the ultimate cozy experience. I was gifted a sampler pack last year and I was blown away at the craftsmanship of their teas, as well as the fine packaging it came in. These teas are the perfect way to fancy up any rainy day and they make the best hostess gifts.

Juliette Hogan’s winter presentation has me excited to add multiple layers of shades of white to my wardrobe. After receiving a bachelor of design degree in Wellington, the designer went on to win the Karen Walker/Steinlager “Dare to Be” scholarship, which led her to completing an internship with the Rebecca Taylor design team. In 2004, she established her own label and wowed the industry with her ability to "blur the line between classic femininity and contemporary fashion," says her website.

Clarins Beauty Flash Balm ($45) is the perfect pick-me-up (and instant gratification) for tired, lackluster skin. This brightening balm eliminates signs of fatigue as easily as it is to apply. (I just slap it on my face and watch my mini facelift appear right before my eyes.) Clarins uses olive oil and witch hazel extracts to refine the skin's surface layers, making them tight and bright. This is the ultimate primer to use when the seasons start to change and you need a quick brightener to keep your winter woes at an all time low.
