Spring Cover Up

military jacket II
It's getting to be one of my favorite times of the year, that slow transition from Winter to Spring where you get to switch from heavy weight coats and parkas to some light weight spring alternatives. There are the ever present, shall we say classic?, tweed and denim jackets. Always appropriate, always cute and in almost everyone's wardrobe. What might not be in your closet is the military style jacket. Also a classic in my mind, the olive green color goes with everything. I mean it, try it, it's true. And thus it's very versatile. You can make it a little girly, a little edgy, a little funky. Yes it is a more casual style so you're not going to be wearing this for your dressed up nights out, however, if you're going for drinks with friends I could make a case for it with some sparkle and shine thrown in the mix to glam it up a tad. It's best obviously for the weekend around town.  But don't forget a pop of color to keep the outfit away from drab. It's as easy as a scarf or colorful denim. It's also great with metallics, so load up on jewelry, add a bright lip color and head out into the fresh Spring air.
