Two Shakes and a Spray

I love great (and sometimes trashy) television and I love great hair. I love it even more when my favorite things collide and in turn, create something so amazing that it must be shared with others. I recently spied Claire Danes (one of my red carpet faves) on the cover of Vogue and loved how real and touchable her hair looked. This is a look any woman could easily sport and keep for several days with the help of two simple products. Celebrity styist, Oribe Canales (who styled Danes for the shoot) paid homage to her hit HBO show, "Homeland," so the stylist didn’t want to stray too far from her character’s low-maintenance vibe. "It’s clean, easy, All-American hair with a bit of sex appeal," Oribe said when interviewed in Vogue. "It’s very Claire Danes."

The "Claire Danes" look is quite easy to achieve and works well for any woman with medium-short to long hair. To recreate her editorial look by Oribe, all it takes is two shakes and a spray of a couple of my favorite Oribe products. All you do is use a small amount of Dry Texturizing Spray at the roots for a natural looking lift and Soft Dry Conditioner Spray from mid-shaft to ends. "This keeps the volume and texture, but adds a softness and youngness to locks," Oribe explained in Vogue. The conditioner spray has quickly become a staple in my beauty bag and works great with all hair types.

Oribe products available online and locally at Faust Scotts Valley.
