The Curator: Five Fall Must-Haves

In this month's The Curator column, by Vanessa Ambrose, the style setter shares her five favorite must-haves for fall.

1. S.W. Basics Organic Eye Make Up Remover

I may have found the holy grail of make up removers around, by S.W. Basics of Brooklyn. It's comprised of three simple, organic ingredients: sweet almond oil, jojoba oil and extra virgin olive oil, which is apparently all you need to remove make up, and it works perfectly. Buy online at swbasicsofnk.com.

2. Refuge Soaking Spa in Carmel

My newfound love, which is surely becoming a monthly ritual. A quick drive down Highway 1 into Carmel Valley for a truly amazing refuge from the stress of a hard week at work or just a quick, quiet getaway. Plan for a few hours at Refuge and then drive into downtown Carmel for the best Spinachi Gnocchi you’ll ever taste at Casanova restaurant!

3. The Wall Hangings of All Roads

I have always had an affinity for mid-century and '70s design. The current tapestry wall hanging trend hits the spot perfectly for me. I just completed my first weaving lesson with Mexican fiber artist Nelly Larson at her gorgeous studio in San Miguel De Allende this past week. Also, I'm currently obsessed with the handwoven tapestries by Los Angeles duo All Roads as well as the work of Maryanne Moodie.

4. Lauren Moffatt Fall 2013 Collection

New York designer Lauren Moffatt’s Fall 2013 collection is a breath of fresh upstate air, inspired by a recent trip to the Catskills. Her trademark look is prim and charming but never prissy. Incredibly feminine but sensible with a touch of quirkiness. The fall collection is available in store now at Cameron Marks.

5. Melissa Shoes 2014 Spring/Summer Collection (no photo)

This is my favorite collection from Melissa Shoes yet! Hailing from Brazil, these fashion forward shoes are made entirely of 100 percent recyclable plastic, with an eye toward environmental and social responsibility. Major credit, too, due to collaborations with some of the world's most avant-garde designers including Jean Paul Gaultier, Karl Lagerfeld and Vivienne Westwood. Jellies of the past, take note!
