French Theft Lingerie: Luxurious Treasures off Highway 1

There is a darling secret lingerie store in Santa Cruz that I think is so much better than Victoria’s. Kate Springmeyer, the owner of French Theft Lingerie in Santa Cruz, honed her taste for beautiful things through years spent working as a set designer on films, TV and commercials. Her cozy store showcases a beautifully curated collection of sweet nothings artfully constructed in silk and lace from exotic locations across the globe.

I’m in love with the gorgeous nouveau retro bralette from Bay area designer Mary GreenIt peeks out just enough to add a little something extra to any tank or slip dress.

Coming soon to the store are exquisite hand painted silk kimonos, long line bralettes and lux basics from the Samantha Chang line, made from Japanese Miyabi, a fiber that is finer than both silk and cashmere.

Fortnight is another collection to be excited about.

Of course French Theft wouldn’t quite live up to its name without having a gorgeous selection on hand from the country that knows for its delicates. Blush, Chantelle and Lou are returning this season to offer a superb selection sure to please both him and her.

Make sure you stop in sometime this fall to see the cotton/silk sleepwear blends Springmeyer is bringing into the store from Salua, a Seattle based company whose line is feminine, fresh, romantic, and also ethically produced in the designer’s hometown of Santa Maria, Colombia.

Maybe there is a special occasion on the horizon, or you love that extra bounce that finds its way into your step when you start the day with pretty undies. Stop by French Theft, and perhaps you’ll find a pick me up for a rainy day.

French Theft is at 402 Ingalls St., No. 16, Santa Cruz, (831) 466-9900.
