The air gets cooler, leaves turn amazing shades of yellow, sunset oranges, and vibrant reds. Fall usually brings with it fashion palettes inspired by the earth tones surrounding us. Richly-saturated burgundies, rusts, browns, camels, teals, etc. We've been looking at the bright colors of summer for so long that it's a welcome change. But once we're fully entrenched in our autumnal hues, how can we infuse a little something different without breaking the bank? One of the easiest and most satisfying ways is to shop your own closet. Some spring favorites that have been put away can play in the cooler months as well. Right now I'm thinking about mixing and matching colors. Pastels like mint look fresh with chocolate, teal and charcoal gray. Ivory has become an all-weather staple and mixes beautifully with camel, raisin, grey, rust, and pretty much everything. I'm especially partial to soft pink. An easy but unexpected mix with autumnal shades like pumpkin, burgundy and my current favorite, saffron.
