When a company can find a way to marry sustainability and style, I'm always willing to give them a look but I generally have low expectations. The two can create a difficult union and often style can fall by the wayside. The company Nau, out of Portland, Ore., has found a companionable relationship between the two. If being green is your thing, there are not a lot of outerwear manufacturers to choose from who use recycled polyester, donate 2 percent of their proceeds to Partners for Change and seem to be steeped in their philosophy, "Nau designs sustainable and modern clothing that protects you in every environment, from the forest floor to the wilds of the city." These are a few of my favorites from their site, nau.com.
