Classic dress silhouettes are all the rage right now and it's easy to understand why. The nipped waist and full skirt looks are feminine, flattering and fit a multitude of shapes and sizes. I like to experiment with mixing modern and vintage so if I was feeling romantic and nostalgic while getting ready for a summer wedding, I might opt for this lovely, butter yellow, V-neck dream by Preen from Thornton Bregazzi.
I'd pair it with pointy toe pumps to carry out the '50s look but I would buy a modern version to keep from feeling like I was wearing a costume. And, I'd opt for statement jewelry like these long earrings and bangle. A beaded clutch and a whimsical ring like this jeweled bee keep things fun and interesting. And, to top things off, a fascinator. I'm captivated by them but haven't yet managed to find a way to work them into my wardrobe. So, given the opportunity, (and what better opportunity is there than a wedding?), I'd sport one in a coordinating tone with my dress.
