Everything pictured here is on my wishlist, and if I went on a shopping spree and purchased it all, I'd be only one of dozens who would own these items. And, of course, that would be thrilling, because it's always exciting to own something that's one of a kind. (Or something that's, say, 30 of a kind.) Behind each of these striking items by some of my favorite independent designers is a creative project called "Of a Kind."
Spearheaded by founders Claire Mazur and Eric Cerulo, Of a Kind is a unique partnership and platform that sells and features limited edition work of some of their favorite designers, including the five lines represented here.
These Blue Blossom Oxfords by Marais USA are on my wishlist. A warm blue chambray complemented by a light floral chambray makes for an innovative and versatile shoe. It sells for $164 and there are only 60 pairs available.
The floral Rachel Rose blouse seen above is yet another stunner from this innovative designer. It sells for $98 and 50 pieces have been created.
The Blue Summer Linen Blazer by 7715 is perfectly tailored and ideal for summer, and can move seamlessly into the fall; 65 jackets were made and sell for $160.
Highlow Jewelry is a new favorite discovery of mine, and I was excited to see that the line has collaborated with Of a Kind for this exclusive Golden Ardor Necklace that sells for $158 with only 40 available.
And finally, another favorite of mine is Chiyome, which created this smart and stylish bag. This blush colored, square Clarity Epandable Tote has a bottom portion that can be zipped off, or kept on when you're carrying a heavier load. It sells for $350 and 30 were made.
"Our fantasy is that every time someone compliments you on an Of a Kind edition, you’ll feel compelled to knowingly tell them all about the designer behind it," says the company's website. "You’ll probably also want to brag that you’re one of only a handful of people in the world who owns it—but that’s entirely up to you."
