The versatility of simplicity

Simple Silhouette

It's easy to get caught up in the more is better school of thought, and at times it's true: more money, more chocolate, more time—all good things. But there's also something to be said for simplicity and in this case a clean silhouette and the blank canvas it affords.

For example, I took a lovely coral georgette maxi dress from Tibi and dressed it up with luxe gold metallic and crystal accents. I chose to go glam with soft gold heels, a clutch and an embellished belt to provide some sparkle at the waist; it not only defines but adds interest to a region often ignored. Of course you have to feel comfortable with people staring at your midsection but it's a small price to pay for looking fabulous.

For something completely different, add some boho accents and you're in a new realm of fashion opportunity. Boho is a huge trend that never goes out of style; add fringe and go. Be it in the form of a bag, necklace, earrings, or even a '70s era rocker chick shawl. Finish with beaded or embroidered flat sandals and you cannot go wrong for an effortless day look that can segue into an evening I can easily envision ending at a bar on the beach sipping margaritas, mojitos or whatever the locals are enjoying.
