Summer, more than any other season, has always been a time to embrace natural elements as part of my wardrobe. It's too hot for man-made fibers like polyester so I dress in lightweight cotton as much as possible. Accessories derived from nature are obvious and easy partners. This year, I found these beautiful hand-woven dried grass bracelets from a women's collective called Tibobene, translated, "we will try," in Dikokore, Benin. I learned from their website, dikokore.com, that "every bracelet sold contributes to a girl's education in West Africa." I love that it's becoming the norm for companies to make it easy for shoppers to choose products that are sustainable and humanitarian.
