He's been toiling for several years making silk anoraks from repurposed military surplus parachutes, but I finally took notice with the Spring/Summer 2015 ready to wear collection from British designer Christopher Raeburn. At first glance, I love the soft looks with obvious sport influence and the neutral color palette. The addition of a soft pop of pink and an unusual topographic print keep the group from being monochromatic while the textural addition of lace, quilting, and stripes keeps things interesting. I'm especially drawn to the slim cut quilted bomber jacket paired with billowy trousers and the loose cut anoraks with soft shorts. This collection feels like the perfect blend of soft and tailored, casual comfort and sustainable awareness.
