Stripe Style

Stripe Style is a monthly column written by Dana Rader, co-owner of Stripe and Stripe MEN, beloved lifestyle boutiques in Santa Cruz, Calif. This column features The Penny Rose's favorites from Stripe.

First Rite is designed by Nikki Garcia in San Francisco and is made in California using high quality textiles from natural fibers. We are absolutely in love with her simple and classic silhouettes. The linen Dani Tunic ($240) has become a wardrobe staple. With a flattering V-neckline, it looks great as a tunic dress or layered over your favorite trousers, leggings, or jeans. I personally love it worn as a dress with the sleeves rolled and a pair of strappy sandals and a big sun hat for summer.

DANI Naturals is the perfect summer lotion. We are currently obsessed with the coconut hibiscus fragrance ($24). Not only does it smell like a trip to the tropics, but it’s certified organic and super moisturizing without feeling greasy. Don’t need a new lotion? They make a diffuser, candle, body wash, and sugar scrub that all smell equally as incredible.

With summer travel, it’s nice to have an easy, lightweight pair of earrings you can wear daily on vacation. These new earrings ($24), made by Tumbleweeds, a husband and wife team out of Wenatchee, Wash., are simple, pretty and unique. We have carried their delicate stacking rings since the day we opened our shop in 2009, and have loved seeing their line grow and evolve.

While traveling and relaxing in the sun, it’s nice to jot down ideas, memories, or have a little book to sketch in. This beautiful notebook ($14) from Fringe studio has a watercolor painting by artist Cindy Hillard on the cover. With over 200 pages to fill, and shiny gilded gold page edges, it’s the perfect travel companion. Now, all you need to do is fill it with all your brilliant ideas!
