Shopping in Taipei

One of my favorite ways to explore a new city is by taking long walks and, on a recent business trip to Taipei, this approach helped me discover fantastic shopping. When I travel, I love bringing home wearable souvenirs: pieces that will remind me of the places I've visited and adventures I've had there.

Taipei is a vibrant city that boasts incredible food around every corner, scores of scooters at every intersection and excellent opportunities for retail therapy. On one long stroll I stumbled upon Single Noble, a boutique that features classic, feminine silhouettes with locations throughout Taiwan and mainland China. I scooped up this adorable blue and brown floral print top (above) from their summer line.

At Sogo shopping mall, each floor is dedicated to a particular category and I spent some quality time on the shoe level. I was lucky enough to be there during a summer sale and brought home these cool casual black leather perforated slip on sneakers by Kokko of Taiwan. I also snapped up these adorable blue leather peep-toe booties from Demi that work with anything from jeans to dresses. These lovely pieces are sure to keep Taipei fresh in my memory when I wear them for years to come.

My quick guide to Taipei: Find affordable luxury and stay at The Sherwood. Enjoy the best dumplings in the world at Din Tai Fung. Experience the crowds, sights and sounds of Shilin Night Market.
