If you’re like me, the most thought you put into doing laundry is whether to wash hot or cold or hang dry or tumble dry. But after receiving a bottle of detergent by The Laundress (scented with Le Labo’s beloved fragrance, Santal 33), I’ve discovered there’s a lot more to laundering.
The Laundress founders Gwen Whiting and Lindsey Boyd, both graduates of Cornell University's Fiber Science, Textile and Apparel Management and Design program, and with professional backgrounds in the fashion industry, are passionate about fabric care and their luxurious product line reflects their enthusiasm.
Laundering isn’t just a chore to clean your clothes and linens but an opportunity to care for them and extend the life of high quality garments you’ve invested in and adore. Their 100 percent biodegradable line also offers products that will cut down your dry cleaning bill while handling your delicate pieces made of silk or cashmere, and keep your home clean with non-toxic products like the All-Purpose Bleach Alternative. Their website features a useful blog and lots of helpful tips for tasks like getting out pesky stains. I’m looking forward to trying out more of their products especially the Sport Detergent and Spray for my workout wardrobe.
