You're looking at my new, favorite pants. They have a basic name: the Basic Pant, by Lina Rennell. But for me, these pants are anything but basic.
With a curvy figure, I often have a hard time finding pants—it seems these days trousers are mostly made for women with straight bodies. (Unrealistic and an unfortunate continued glamorization of a specific body type.) These Basic Pants by a local designer are a game-changer.
First of all, unless you're of model proportions, they won't hit you at the calf—they'll fall around your ankles. The elastic waistband allows for an opportunity to show off a slim waist, and the gentle tapering on the legs allows for a flattering fit on a woman with curvaceous hips.
At $140, they are a commitment, but one that's well worth it.
My favorite are the blue pair, which are made of 100 percent organic cotton chambray. And in addition to being a hit for curvy women, they also happen to be immensely comfortable.
