I never understood the craze about high-end exercise gear. Spend a bunch of money just to sweat in it? No thanks. But after I started doing HIGH Fitness cardio classes at The Barre Studio in Capitola, my low-end leggings quickly revealed why they cost so little. Sweat stains, hot fabrics, movement constraints, no sweat-wicking, and I could go on and on. Just a few weeks into my new cardio addiction, and I had to find something better to wear.
So, I drove over to the closest Lululemon store (which is actually 40 minutes away). I knew that I wanted something with a lot less fabric. While I'm not a fan of shorts, The Barre Studio is so supportive that I knew I could overcome my modesty and bare my legs. But I quickly realized that shorts wouldn't cut it for me. I sweat too much. Down south, if you get my drift. I needed something that would allow for functionality, comfort, breathability, movement, and keep everything covered up.
Now, choosing a skirt from the selection at Lululemon isn't as easy as it seems. You have to do your research. Some are better for running or fast walking. But I needed something that wouldn't constrict my movement since HIGH has a lot of jumps and lunges. These two skirts (unlike the Pace Rival) have flexibility with the design of the skirt, which is created for active movement.
And a few perks: hidden pockets and silicone grips to keep the liner shorts in place so they don't hike up your legs during a workout.
Try one out ... it will entirely change the way you exercise.
