I’ve never been into espadrilles, until, of course, I learned that French women wear them. Sold. These perfect summery brown beauties from Sezane are now on my wish list. I’ve been looking for a brown heeled shoe of some sort, but being that I live in a beach town and I’m a writer (hence I’m indoors in yoga pants all the time), traditional heels in the daytime just aren’t practical or useful for me. Enter: Espadrilles. Find these beauties here from Sezane for $120.
There are a few items of clothing that embody summer: A bikini, denim cut-offs and espadrilles. I've always been a fan of the espadrille. There is something so historic yet timeless about them.
In an internet search for the perfect pair I happened upon the Espadrille Store. Chock-full of authentic, handmade espadrilles from Spain, complete with videos of the artisans who make each shoe from the jute rope sole to the laces, I am in slip-on-shoe heaven.
It would be impossible to show every favorite, these are but a smattering of the offerings. From traditional flat, to wedge, modest high heel, and adorable avarcas for women, there are too many to choose. The prices are reasonable for the quality and include a $12 shipping fee.
I admit to loving them for kids and men as well. If my husband would wear a pair, I'd get some for him too.
