The Curly Cocktail

I'm both blessed and cursed with curly hair. Blessed because it's different every day. Cursed because for ages I haven't been able to put together the right hair product cocktail for my specific curls, which are fine and S-shaped. Recently, I brought my woes to Anna Wu, a friend, fellow blogger here at The Penny Rose, a makeup/hair aficionado, and the owner of Faust Salon and Spa Scotts Valley. She's always trying out new products and I had a feeling she might have a prescription for my frizzy, sad curls. I was right.

Wu put together a mixture for me of Kerastase Oleo Curl (curl defining cream) and Kerastase boucles d'art (a curl defining mousse). A nickel size of the cream and a pump of the mousse and that's all I need. First, scrunch my damp hair. Then, scrunch in the Oleo Curl. Next, pump a small squirt of mousse into my hand, then use it to twist a section of hair. Do this process all over. Let my hair air dry, or for extra volume, blow dry it with a diffuser.

The effect: soft, natural, non-crunchy, perfect curls (with volume!). I'm thoroughly impressed and highly recommend this cocktail to any curly-haired girls with fine hair.
