Ready for Fall? Ideas inspired by the RTW Runways

In Northern California an extra layer in the morning and evening is pretty much always necessary, so fall fashion doesn’t ever feel too out of place. As far as personal style goes, there really is nothing better than feeling cozy and looking chic at the same time. After a little sifting though the Fall 13 Ready to Wear (RTW) runways I’ve found that these five designers are on point with my aesthetic for when the summer breezes turn cool.

Isabel Marant’s collection with long cotton sweater dresses over layers of tissue-thin cotton tunics and skintight mixed leather pants is a look I’d love to live in. The cocoon coat keeps turning up everywhere for this Fall, but Dries Van Noten’s rusty brown wool menswear (upper left photo) inspired version has just the right dose of glam in the form of tiny rhinestone leaf clusters.

Looks from Opening Ceremony (bottom right) and A.P.C. (bottom left) hearkened back to two of my favorite movie character fashion icons: Liv Tyler’s flirtatious but innocent Corey Mason of Empire Records and Gwyneth Paltrow’s enchanting Margot Tenenbaum.

Karen Walker’s set (upper right image) was inspired by '70s punk rock goddess Siouxsie Sioux and combined my love for boxy sweaters and collared shirtwaist dresses. I think I’ll take a cue from her color pallete and use neon orange and yellow to set off neutral nude, army green, taupe, and black and white prints.  If staying toasty and looking stylish is what you're after this Fall, I would check out these five designers’ collections for some pretty solid inspiration.
