Discovery of the Week: Nisolo Shoes

image.jpg

These beautiful shoes are on my Christmas wish list. (I'll report back if Santa brings them to my doorstep.)

I've been eyeing this striking, slightly heeled pair from Nisolo for quite a while now. After spotting them on a friend's feet and finding them being sold at Jade in Santa Cruz, I started crushing on them.

At $215 they are an investment but not an outrageous one. These are the type of shoes that will last for many years to come.

A sophisticated blend between booties and clogs, they will seamlessly go with anything.

Emmy's Gold

The 2013 Emmy’s this past Sunday was the highest rated in seven years. While Neil Patrick Harris succeeded in keeping me entertained for a full three hours, the fashion is what truly kept me hooked. Blush/nude tones were a huge trend this season. Julie Bowen’s trumpet/mermaid style Zac Posen gown leaned toward the fantasy side of dressing up for the event, while Rose Byrne (in Calvin Klein) and Taylor Schilling (in custom Thakoon) stuck with the color trend but kept things sleek and minimal (my favorites). Best actress winner, Claire Danes (in Armani Prive), and "Game of Thrones" star, Emilia Clarke (in Donna Karan), fell perfectly in between the two styles in not overly fussy, yet romantic frocks. One of my favorites of the evening was "Mad Men" cutie, Kiernan Shipka in her Delpozo tea length dress with floral accents. Right on trend, but completely age appropriate. Who was on your Emmy’s best dressed this year?
