A few months ago, I started noticing my first itty bitty wrinkle between my eyes where people often develop the "elevens" as they're called. I'll be the first to admit that I'm not down with embracing wrinkles. I'm doing everything I can to combat them. You do you. I'll do me. And for me, this $7.90 product (yes, you read that right), is like Botox in a bottle. My little wrinkle is no longer there. And so, since it's been so successful, I'm putting it around my eyes, on my neck, and anywhere else where lines are starting to pop up. There are a lot of products on the market, but none that rival this price tag or its results. Find it here.
I've been looking for my dream hair products for years. But nothing ever quite worked for me. I couldn't seem to moisturize my curls as well as deal with my fine hair. It was a bummer scenario for way too long. But then, during a recent appointment at Salon on the Square in Santa Cruz, I discovered Kevin Murphy's products. Everyone was raving about the line and I finally gave it a try, and I'll never turn back. (I'll write at a later date about the incredible curly hair styling product that I discovered.)
The Hydrate Me Wash and Rinse (conditioner) are remarkable. They cut down on frizz, moisturize without weighing hair down (this is huge!), and leave your hair feeling soft, manageable, and the prettiest it's ever been.
If you're a skincare geek (like me), then you've surely heard of The Ordinary by now. But if you haven't, pay attention! This Canadian brand is breaking beauty barriers. Here's why: The line works, it's crazy affordable, and it's showing that skincare doesn't have to break the bank.
Normally, when you buy something like Matrixyl (above), a serious wrinkle-fighting product, you'll easily shell out $60 at the low end. That's what I was doing for a while. But then I learned about The Ordinary's version of Matrixyl 10%...that costs $11.50! Insane. Or maybe, that's normal, and that's how it should be.
I've been using this for a month now and I can easily say that this $11.50 version is far superior to the $60 version I was using from another brand. I'm sold!

I've been hearing about the benefits of using a cleansing oil, but didn't really buy into the hype. Until now, after I finally used this brilliant one from Monastery, sold at Cameron Marks and online For $34, this isn't a cheap way to clean your face. It's an investment. But isn't your face worth it?
I used to use Cetaphil, but that seemed to dry my oily skin out. Then I started using a similar offering from Whole Foods, which was just...OK. Then, I switched it up and tried a higher end Whole Foods cleanser made for acne-prone skin. It also dried out my skin.
Because I use some aggressive anti-aging topicals (Tazorac and mandelic serum), I needed to find a way to retain the moisture in my skin while also combatting acne. For a while now, I've been battling dry patches on my face, which is new to me as an oily girl. So, I thought I'd try cleansing oil and see if it could solve my dilemma. And it sure did.
The Rose Cleansing Oil seen here removes dirt and makeup and leaves behind silky, moisturized skin. Not only have my dry patches disappeared, but my skin is glowing more than it has in a while. I'm hooked!
